noticed that the orange 997 GT3RS has a non leather dash/cowling etc but the normal 997 GT3 all publicised have a leather dash/cowling etc - is it standard or we have to order it extra ? If so what is the option reference no.

other 997 GT3 expectants please let me know - ta !

Not standard. You need 'Leather interior package' - there isn't a code in my price list but it costs £1648. IMO doesn't suit nature of car - I'm going Clubsport - so I'm not bothering.

I actually prefer the standard finish.

It's not a cost thing, I just think the latest non-leather materials look better and more appropriate on a GT3. IMO the sitching across the leather dash looks a bit too fussy.

Just to make sure that there's a different view... You definately need leather on the GT3. Really enhances the interior significantly. Will help at resale. Porsche plastic looks cheap. I am getting the RS, so I will have to eat my words!

Thanks everyone - replies overall indicate our 997 GT3s and RS will have the standard non leather trim fitted. Probably give it a miss as I have also spec'd Clubsport as well...

I'm with JFT on this one, the 996TT I had leather extras every where, looked far more "classy" than a standard car. I know the GT3 is more track orientated, but that doesn't mean you can't make it feel "classy" inside.
I am now doubly sure having taken delivery of an AMV8 yesterday, the interior is so far ahead of Porsches it is untrue. So when my GT3 comes in 9 months I don't want to go from bespoke "special" to plastic dash!!It feels strange I'm now an Aston owner still posting on POrk. It the first time in about 8 year that my car isn't Porky!

Hope you don't experience all the teething issues on your AMV8 that everyone else seems to endure...

Has anyone heard of an AMV8 "RS" version? Shedding 200 pounds of that car, adding a bit more poke and sorting out the quality issues would make it wonderful. As it stands, I think you will start longing for your GT3 except when in central London, of course.
