Right I was romanced by the thought of Nevy’s C4 when it was on sale but just couldn’t get the time together to look at it and get mine sold before he found a buyer.
A couple of months on I am sort of glad I didn’t as I hate the thought of having a roof above me now. The only problem is that I am desperate for more power!!!
So the choice for me seems simple, given my limited means, 987 2.7 or 986 3.2.
I’ll be honest and say that I haven’t had the chance to try a 986 3.2 but was blown away by how much better the 987 2.7 was than my 986 2.5 – I mean light years better.
Did the 02-04 face-lift do anything worthwhile (other than looks) to the 986?

I think I'd go for a 987 2.7...particularly if you can stretch to a new one so you get the latest 245bhp Variocam engine. Can't imagine a 986 'S' is that much different with 260bhp - great car though and is my current ride. And OPC prices on used 987s are so near new price that you may as well have a new one. Having said that, the part-ex price I got quoted on my 04 986 S was so low that I decided to keep it instead!
986 02-04 face lift bequeathed little except for a tiny power hike, a slight re-jigging inside and out and the (very worthwhile) glass rear screen in the soft top.

TBH my price range is looking at one of the first of the 04 cars for a 2.7 and I doubt it will be from an OPC, although I will be getting it checked by them for sure. I can only dream about a new one.
