take precautions, keep your immobiliser fob in your wallet say, so keys not enough, lock doors in town at night,be aware of low life hanging about your car when you return with shopping, small things keep your stuff safe!

Good idea Rich. However on a 996 the immobiliser is built into the key.

PS - to any dumb fcuk who has ideas about stealing my motor. Jump off a bridge. It's an easier way to commit suicide. If you need clarification ask anyone who has met me.

Interestingly enough we just got the X5 changed to lock all the doors when it's driven off - can that be done on the finer sports cars?

What does it do to prevent it?

aparently if you are car jacked and they take your keys then navtrack confirms the car has been stolen as you are not in the car as it is Automtic Driver Recognition.
They then track the car and when its stopped they can imobilise the car so the police dont have to chase your car

I have a Meta category 1 alarm/immobiliser. It locks the doors the second time you press the brake pedal.

Scares the crap out of me if I leave a motorway service station and don't brake for the next hour or so!
