Hiya everyone,

need some help and advice after returning to my Boxster and finding it looking like its been used in a banger race.
Ok i exagerate there but thats what it looks/feels like

have a dented passenger door and rear quarter and the drivers side rear light is broken and corner of bumper has 3 marks in it.

As said no details left(No surprise there).

I am insured with Admiral,is there anything i should be aware of before i call them?
I know they will say take it to there approved repair center, should i?
Or should i insist on it being repaired at the Porsche Approved repair center?

All advice very much appreciated.

See my thread "Now where did I put my shotgun...!"

I know how that feels, although luckily I have the details (and will make sure he pays..!!).

On insurance, Admiral quoted me the best number but OPC themselves recommended not going for it as they don't have to allow OPC repairs (hence my insurance). Quality or work through Admiral might be the same but can be messy for warranties, etc and resale values.

Try your best to get it through an OPC, otherwise the guys on here seem to be very useful in pointing you to the best alternative.

Good luck

Hav you spoken to Police ? Any CCTV nearby that may have seen what happened ?.

You should report is asap and request that OPC do the work, hopefully you have prot NCD and lower policy excess.

That is a terrible thing to do to someone's P&J !!! Let insurer deal with it and try and forget about it whilst hopefully getting a nice OPC courtesy car ?

It makes me really angry that somebody would do this!

So sorry to read about it.

Try going back to the scene of the accident, at about the time the incident might have taken place(?) and if you are bold enough, ask around and see if anybody saw anything on the day in question. If there are any shops around ask in there if anybody reported seeing anything to any of the shopkeepers? CCTV is always good as well.

Insist on a bodyshop repairing the car that you WANT to repair the car. Do not be put off by the insurers possible insistence on the car going to an approved repairer, in order that they get to pay less for the job.

Good luck.

I wrapped my Boxster round a lamp post a few years ago and Admiral were very good about the claim. There was no question that it should be repaired by anyone other than an OPC. They sent there inspector to check that it wasn't a write-off and then authorised the OPC to start straight away. I had a courtesy car for several weeks whilst it was repaired and ultimately it cost Admiral £24k to repair - which they paid without question (the car was only 9 months old, but it can't have been far off a write-off) ! The car was returned as new - including 4 new wheels and tyres even though only 2 of the alloys had been damaged. I can't speak more highly of the service I received from Admiral.

Needless to say the premium quote went up a bit the following year, but I switched to Normich Union Direct.

Insist on the OPC......good luck
