I suppose this is an inevitable part of owning a Porsche, however, I had hoped it would take longer than two weeks for it to get 'keyed'. I now have an 18" long scratch down the boot of my car. I figure it must have happened whilst parked in the hospital car park as i'm either at work or at home or out driving (What an interesting life I lead!)

Such miscreants are not likely to visit a site such as this, so there is little point in spleen venting, although I am sorely tempted to do so. Does any one have any experience of the scratch fix type people?

Nice to see some 993/996 drivers out this afternoon over pole moor A640 / A58 / et al, giving it large is I believe the expression!

Sorry to hear about the damage to your car, some people have no respect for others property.
As for the paint scratch or similar style of companies, they are okay, for corners of bumpers and mirror scratches ie. small areas, but a flat panel like a boot lid, would show where they have dusted in the scratch. My advice would be to take it to an OPC bodyshop, they may charge £50 or so more, but you will not tell it has been done.

F*cking turds

I'd agree with TIME, ok for bumpers, wing mirrors etc but on a panel...

Basil et al,

I'm at Calderdale Royal at the moment (Halifax) and hopefully for the forseeable future. It's a good place to work apart from the obvious paint damaging problems. Thanks for the advice regarding getting it painted - much appreciated.

I have every sympathy for you. I sued to live in Leeds and got my car damaged regularly - I just gave up in teh end. I hope this is your first and last keying !

I had my bumper 'touched' in a car park and went to my local OPC and got a quote from their bosyshop of £370. Uh huh...
rang up an independent and got an estimated figure of ".. about £150 or so..", more like it.

Let us know how it turns out

Scum.

And to think our taxes are probably paying for these green eyed peasant antieverythingologists to lie around the house all day watching soaps, munching lentils.

I understand how you're feeling. I don't own a Porsche yet (maybe in the next 50 years....saving saving) but about a year ago, some **** keyed my Prelude from one end to the other - rear wing, petrol cap, door, inside the door handle(!!!), front wing & front bumper. I had to have the whole side resprayed. Luckily I'm good friends with a sprayer (the guy who sprayed Thrust2 - the old gold landspeed record 'car' - no less) so it cost me just the price of paint & a saturday afternoon. The scratch is invisible now except for a faint 1 inch dent on the petrol cap where the b@stard pressed so hard. Even 1 year later I still want to kill the person that did it - reminds me of a scene in Pulp Fiction, "it would have been worth him doing it just so that I could've caught him doing it!"....

I can understand people breaking into cars and stealing stuff, but just keying them for the hell of it is beyond me. You've still got the Porsche and they haven't. W***kers. No CCTV at the hospital?

Strasse in Leeds may be able to put you onto somebody who can do a decent job.

Sorry to hear about your car.

I've owned my Boxster for 3 months and I still have a mini panic when I leave it in a shopping centre car park.

Just know that some bas**rd's going to key it some day.
