How long do you spend cleaning lumps of tar off your car? I once spent 35 minutes cleaning one lump which I didn't see and spread it across the bumper with a cloth.

It can come off in about 10 seconds with Johnson's baby wipes!!!!

I kid you not, give them a try. Also forget all those expensive fly removing products, babay wipes take those off in an instant too.

I can't believe our kids have any skin left.

A man after my own heart, I don't think I've been taken seriously when I've mentioned them on other threads.

Also good for getting splattered bugs off, especially windscreens. You will need to rinse after though.

Managed to get oil out of a carpet with them too, does make you wonder what's in them, and what they do to the kid's skin.

....i expect they have a high alcohol content, this will disolve all those greasy tar like marks and lift them straight off......along with any wax that might be on the car!!!! Make sure you apply some fresh wax to the area so as to not leave bare paint! Good tip though.

And what they are doing to your paintwork......

I use Bug & Tar wipes, at least they have been tested on/for paintwork.

Also, tip for getting tar off, smear a dab of margerine on the tar spot, leave it for 10-15 mins & it just wipes off.

Baby Wipes are 98% water then a mixture of various chemicals to stop them going mouldy, smell nice etc. J&J ones have some of their lotion in but not a huge amount.

If they work, great.

They contain propylene glycol which is often used as a paint and varnish remover.....

They really are fantastic on windscreens.

Think yourself lucky, down South france a couple of weeks back I was behind a Lorry which was dropping excess road tar everywhere, I had it on everything, especially the wheels and arches, bloody great big lumps of it! NOT HAPPY!

Damn. I was going to release a Reeves & Mortimer version of baby wipes and package them up like that with huge financial gain. Looks like Bug & Tar are already doing it.
