Optional Equipment Codes
Discussion
According to the service manual the following was optional equipment fitted to my 1998 996 C2:
C18 220 222 224 234
288 408 424 446 490
571 650 659
Think I've managed to figure out what most of them are but if anyone can confirm to which exact options they refer, or where I can find this, would be greatly appreciated!
Also, can anyone could give me a rough idea what they would have cost back in 1998?

The most interesting one is C18...meaning the car was built for the Japanese RHD market originally, so must be an import from outside the EEC!
Silly me, didn't have my specs on - course it's C16. Even with me specs on though Porsches 6's look very similar to their 8's !!
Yes thats what you tell us now as you take the black pen out & try & turn the 8 into a 6!

XR8

695
09991
Thanks.

XR8 Don't know but X98 is Aluminium/leather parking break handle.
236 18" Tyres
376 Sportseat Backrest Shell
695 CDR 22
09991 Manufacture from the exclusive programme
Interestingly 236, 376 and 695 were the ones I had to really look around for.
Cheers Denis
Definitely XR8, could be something to do with the 09991?
Did a search for more info on the exclusive programme and came up with this www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=261848&f=48&h=0

google it,thats how i found mine. You will be shocked at what is extra, one of mine was a bigger battery!!!
not a cost option, all UK cars get bigger batteries as stdb ut the option is listed as not all factory cars get them, our cars tend to get less use hence that spec.
(though I don't know which markets get the smaller ones, maybe Germany?)
