I'm not a huge fan of the 996 and no in C4 form the 996 is not a sports car- its a well balanced GT.

But drive a GT3- or if the funds allow, a GT2 and tell me they are not sports cars.

Lance is very entitled to his opinion. I don't care what he thinks. Horses for courses.

Depends what you are looking for in a car doesn't it.In my opinion the 996 C2 is an everday supercar, its virtues grow on me more everytime I drive it...as has been said Horses for Courses!

I agree with Steve. As an everyday car it's an excellent proposition, and it does grow on you, mainly because it's so damn competent. As a weekend car there is too little charisma in the vanilla version, which I have. Wasn't sure I was going to like it so was rigid on the price. For a variety of reasons, the answer couldn't be a 993. If I could convince myself that I could live with the Maser 3200/4200 I'd have bought one of those instead. However, I can't, so the choice is realistically between the porker and the usual Beemer, Merc, Jag and Audi offerings. No contest (at the moment).
