Creaking noise heard at low speed from both sides, have heard that it may be the track control arm (lower wishbone?), can anyone confirm that these are a likely candidate and what they're like to fit?.

hiya creaking noise quite common on 996s highly likely to be bottom arms, take about 2hrs to fit but will need alignment checking afterwards

Then again if it has only started recently it could be due to the hot/dry weather. I've had cars in the past get a little creaky over the summer months.

One of the benefits of a leaky RMS is they piss oil all over everything including the front suspension so you don't get any creaking. Sows ear; silk purse anyone.

Including the FRONT suspension, that's one a hell of a blown RMS

If it's only doing it during the hot weather I would wait a while and see if it settles down again.

Apart from a blown engine and RMS it could well be the lower wishbones, I've had them down on mine, a few hundred quid.
