Already been seen in the usual places, pencilled in for next year apparently. Not sure why this is so soon but residuals must take a hit. Unusual for Porsche to do this, is there a problem with the 997?

I'll find some links.

p.16 of this week's Autocar for a start.

It's on a few spy websites. Pics of it on the 'ring and road etc

Thanks, nothing too drastic is it. I'm loving 997's more and more every time I see one.
You people look after them won't you

I still suspect the 'facelift' changes won't materialise until mid-2008 (09MY). Why?

- I was told by someone who should know.

- The Targa, Turbo and GT3 have only just been launched

- The 996 was 'facelifted' in year four and this would correspond with 09 for the 997

- As Autocar said yesterday "Mystery surrounds the launch plans for the facelifted 911. Porsche has a long history of testing cars well in advance of their introduction; the facelifted Cayenne has been a sight on the roads around Stuttgart for over 18 months now and has still not yet reached showrooms"

Of course I could be wrong, but my understanding is the 'facelift' will also incorporate the new paddleshift gearbox option (DSG/PDK) and this is still a long way from being production ready.

is it just cosmetic and spec or will power be increased?

There will always be some power increase, however minor.

Agree with most of above. Think you may also find that Porsche are using the convenient existence of a face lift body to act as a useful red herring, diverting our attention from what may really be underneath.........................

No wonder the facelift of the Cayenne takes a lot longer. It needs a full face transplant.

One of the motoring magazines once said: "News is that the Cayenne will receive a mild facelift to counter criticsms of its ugly styling. But don't hold your breath. If Ann Widecombe had a facelift she'd hardly come out looking like Sharon Stone"
