Performance Air Filters
Discussion
more induction noise in most cases
no noticeable increase in performance
possible increased engine wear over a long duration of time
consensus would be to simply replace the paper filters regularly; they're not bad at what they do
in a race engine where engine wear isn't a problem, there could be more sense in getting a freer flowing filter and mapping the engine accordingly
do it for the induction noise if you have to have a reason

I did it to my 964.
main reason a paper filter is £10 the K=N about £45, i figured I was doing at least 2 filters a year and after 2 years it would pay for itself.
I don't notice any noise increase, or power, or economy, but thats not to say they aren't there I just haven't noticed them. what i do notice is my services are a tenner cheaper!
