Porsche 996 Cab Millenium...how can I tell it's a Millenium?
Discussion
Hi guys,
Hoping that someone may be able to help. I'm looking at a 2000 996 Cab, I've been told it's a Millenium Edition. How can I make sure it is in fact a Millenium Edition car? Is there perhaps a list of chassis numbers that relate solely to this model?
A link would be useful
Cheers

It doesn't have the chrome alloys but I imagine they could have been swapped at some point.
There is a millenium for sale at RSJ at the moment. Have a look at the spec list, it might give you some pointers. That particular car does have chrome wheels, but your right in that there is no reason why they couldnt have been swapped or refinished. They certainly wouldnt be miy cup of tea and I think I would have wanted to change them.
I totally agree, I would definitely have swapped them!!
Ok....the plot thickens a little. The car was originally a special order for a football player who wanted the car with the aluminium pack and not wood trim (I've not actually seen the car yet in the flesh) so I don't think it has the wood bits - it does however have paperwork to support it's 'Millenium' base. The car was purchased used by it's current owner from AFN and from memory it's number 512.
Should I be wary of any of this? To be honest, my preference would be to lose the wood trim so it's a bonus for me!!
Thanks

You are right in that the others I have seen since having an interest have been C4 Coupe models. I wonder if it was some sort of dealer special edition??? I'm travelling a couple of hundred miles to see it tomorrow so should know a little more then.
From memory they made a certain number...not sure if it was 911 worldwide.....only about 100 in Uk or somethng,,,anyhow they have a numbered plaque on the dash or consol as in 321/911 etc..
I thunk the car you are viewing is a high spec cab and there is a certain ammount of spin going on if they are describing it as a millenium.....certainly doesn't mean it may not be a fantastic car....hope it works out for you...
