For you or a punter Keith?
Doing fine now thanks. The crutches are history and I can finally enjoy a beer or two tonight after a week on the happy tablets.
How 'bout getting a cheap C2 and 'lighten' it to an RS-ish spec for a daily hack/track slag? That way you could put on a nice RS America rear lid, for weight reduction purposes you understand
, and I could put your discarded '64 lid with leccy spoiler to good use - be a shame to see it collect dust somewhere............. got to be the genuine article mate......drive one and you will understand where im coming from....
Hey ..pleased your back on your feet leigh ! enjoy the beer !!

well the bumpers are the same apart from the centre section which you can buy in fibreglass ( probably not a perfect fit ),...seats - expensive ...door cards - not cheap i expect..to be fair im sure you could do a replica for reasonable cash BUT the car will never drive like a RS unless you spend silly amounts of cash and why bother when a RS can be bought as per pistonheads classifieds at moment for £26k ish ???....

I apologise for the hijicking but...does anyone here have an ideia of how much it would cost the C2 to RS conversion but ignoring the outrageously expensive bits like the lightweight rear bumper, lightweight windows, etc). Thnaks
This one looks nice
www.pistonheads.com/sales/84134.htm
Paul Mc at GT classics knows the cars, he should be able to guide you away from any potential dogs

Thanks! The reason I ask is that I might buy a lightly crashed 964 with 25k miles cheap and since I'd have to spend money on suspension, refurbish wheels, etc why not buy the correct RS parts? I'm pretty sure if you buy the mechanical parts (suspension, wheels, etc) the cars will handle similarly.
yeah possibly ...but it depends how light the crash was and what impact has it got on the car etc....it may / may not be a sensible move ..especially when theres a 64RS on pistonheads at 26k , maybe weigh the pros & cons up .... good luck, keith
