Having just read an article by our own the Right Hon. Steven Rance in Total
911 Magazine about Driving a 911 in the wet and after most of my trackdays
this year being wet and especially our trip to SPA
Im seriously thinking of taking 2 sets of tyres to trackdays
what are the best wet tyres / cut slicks to buy ? - I recently saw on a 964RS
a chap with a set of tyres on a roof rack !
would these fit on a GT3 3 or would the wheels /tyres be too heavy ?

At Spa I swapped to a set of the Corsa System (factory fit for the GT3RS) N6 (295's and 235's) and now use them as my road/wet tyres.

They are pretty impressive and seem to be wearing well. There were rumours that they are a same or very similar compound to the Corsa but I know from my drive grit test they are not half as sticky as Cups.

Drive grit test?? When I get home from a trackday and drive onto my bit of tarmac the car is showered with tiny bits of grit that stick to the tyres. I then have to get a pair of leather gloves to brush off the sharp bits before I store them.

Road tyres such as SO2's have a low grit factor, Cups a V high factor and SSSR's a med/high factor.

The Corsa Systems have a similar med/high factor and I am well impressed.

Tim, the Systems are the same compound as the regular Corsas. Just more grooves in them for water dispersal. Imho excellent for mixed road/track use but often underrated/mal-aligned because people always compare them to regular Corsas expecting the same level of grip in the dry...
