So the Maxi Cosi cabriofix is one? Sorry for basic questions, but does it go in the back, do any adjustments need to be made?

We use a rear facing seat that is part of a push-chair combo (from Chicco). Used it for first one and now 3month old. Fits fine in the back of our 996 (does mean front seat needs to be quite far forward though). In this they basically lie down albeit somewhat at an angle. Not sure they need to be more horizontal than this.

I really suggest you take yourselves off to some baby shop that has a car-park and simply try out rear facing seats. We had no probs with ours but it seems some others on here think rear facing seats only fit in the front of a 911.

Take recommendations from people but when it comes to child seats you need to try them out. It could save a life so worth the time investment to try a few out.

You been keeping the head down since the new arrival Fulham??.. They sure do suck any spare time you never thought you had in the first place!!

I agree on your thoughts re- picking of a seat ... Bring the missus down to to local LARGE baby seat place and try em all for size ... Remember , not only does it have to fit , it also has to satisfy a new fretting mums worries . It's no good arriving home with your baby seat already installed to be greeted with 'You're not putting my little precious in that!!'

Maxi Cosi cabriofix works great in the 996 for infants, not sure about the 997.

the Chicco Trio however did not fit in my 996

it should do but not with the ISOFIX base that we have, it will fix in using a seat belt but the front passenger seat may have to be very forward.

I have not seen a Porsche rear-facing seat for yongsters.

Enjoy Fulham, mine is 2 weeks old now and I seem to remember sleep was enjoyable.

poprsche do do a rear facing infant seat, it has to go in the front and you also get stung for the airbag deactivation system as well. but you get to keep your 911

How much do both cost please? We're due for a mini-me/her in early March '07!

can't see the wife being too chuffed about sitting in the back though

with the infant seat fitted can you slide the front seat fully forward so there is decent leg room in the rear seat behind?
