After much deliberation I finally took the plunge recently to have my detailed by a professional. I've always taken good care of my cars, but I'm a bit of a perfectionist at heart nerd and whenever I looked at the paint on my dark blue 993 in the sun it showed up a few too many swirls and scatches for my liking.

After some research and asking around I went with a company called Elite Detailing (www.elitedetailing.co.uk). The chap came out and did "paint correction" - essentially machine polishing the car until all the scratches and swirls had gone. He started work at 10am and finished just before midnight! eek Amazing commitment to getting the job done to the best possible standard.

The results? Well to say I'm pleased would be a understatement - the paint is like new! In the sun it's like looking into deep blue sheet glass. It's really brought the colour to life.

I have no affiliation with this company whatsoever, but I thought I'd share my very positive experience with you guys in case anyone is thinking of doing the same on their car. There aren't many people I let loose on my P&J but these guys come highly commended from me!

That's amazing!
How's the RS geometry working out, or are you changing too many nappies to drive it?

Just to echo that, I've used Mr Elitedetailing as well in the past. Great service, guy really works his bits off & the results...well the photos above show it. He did my truck several months back so I know his finish lasts.

Big thumbup for G from me.

VS, RS geometry is working well. I'm really pleased with the handling/ride of the car, money well spent cool Plenty of nappy changing going on, but I'm still driving it regularly - great antidote to smelly nappies I can tell you!

sportandclassic, the paint correction work cost me £200. A bargain in many ways because the guy spent pretty much 14 hours solid doing the work!

Hi Guys

Thanks for the support. It's always a pleasure working on the 911's, especially the wide bodied 993C2S. I'm glad your happy with the results and it was worth the effort.

The website is due for an update and will be updated in the next 2 weeks with a lot more cars. There should be about 10 more 911's too. beer

G

Profile says Midlands so you should be in luck!

I'm seriously tempted to get my black RS done and get rid of the swirls and light scratches that show up so clearly on a black paint, but as the car is mainly used on track not sure how long it will last so is it actually worth it?

It's not the track use that will cause the swirls and scratching, more how you wash and polish it. If the swirls bother you it's probably worth having it done and then getting Elite to give you some advice on how to prevent getting them again. It's all pretty easy stuff as long you have the right cleaning materials.

The website is due for an update.. there will be alot more pictures and alot more nice cars.
I have done a few cars in Kent and am happy to travel. Although I am based in the Midlands I do many cars in and around the London area. I did a black GT3 not so long ago in Kent.

Based in Bham but travel as far as Scotland if required too,. Carry my own purified water and am usually totally self suffiecient. I even had one genteleman who asked me to detail his murcielago, I was more than happy but Prague was a little out of my catchment area. laugh

Hey Sundeep. It's Ocean blue, so not Midnight or Iris!!

Paint correction - ask G for a technical answer. Essentially any deep scratches are sanded down with paper and water. Then the paint is polished with a rotary polisher with different heads/compounds/polishes, going progressively from coarse to fine until no blemishes remain! Finally the paint is "sealed" with wax.

I will be in touch soon - I'm just 15 miles north of Birmingham (lichfield)- sure you could travel that far !

I've got a few stone chips that I was going to get sorted this winter - should I get that done first or is it something you can help with ?
