Either production photos of Carrera GT or some new spy/photoshop photos of new 997 showing detail features of 993,356 & early beetle to give that retro feel.

Hopefully not some KN test....

Let's just say after last sundays foray into 140dom (not on a motorway, but a narrow gradually winding test track facility with remarkable similarity to a certain A road near my house), he's now thinking of buying one himself. I've suggested a GT3 clubsport, as he doesn't want to spend £100k on an X50. The garage are suggesting he considers a used turbo (a glut in the network perhaps) as a GT3 Clubsport is not really an everyday car. The only problem is finding a clubsport so he can check he can fit in it OK what with the roll cage and rake only adjustable seats. He also has to check he can get in and out of his underground garage without hitting the front lip spoiler (in my turbo I have to travers the kerb at 45% due to the camber in the road).

Hey Daz - are your windows tinted black, or is it a trick of the light? (just been looking at the pic) If they are, do Porsche do that or is it a third party job?

Trick of the light Steve.

The picture on my profile is when the car is four days old. I had just finished cleaning the car and put the "Autoglym" window cleaner stuff on the windows.

Daz, I've got to say it, that is one hell of a car you've got there sir.

I'd like first refusal on it when the time comes, please?

Oh, and call me a fussy old so and so, but could we have a rear 3/4 view instead? The extended wheel arches / roofline point does funny things to me.

Greg it took a load of hassle getting that picture on my profile (I'm a tech dunce).

Email me and I'll send you a few shots.

DAZ

Edited to say, Greg, sorry mate, but I think you'll be waiting rather a long time even if I were to give you number one option. Having said that you would be getting a properly run in example which is a bit of a rarity on these shores.

Which reminded me that I didn't have a pic of the small yellow thing on my profile. So now I have.

No tinted windscreen here either!

Thanks for the reply Daz. I'll be asking how best to run in when mine arrives.

Greg - You now have mail (three to be precise).

Steve - Is that Stig driving you R500? Is there something you want to tell us? Have you finalised the turbo spec yet?

Daz, I might be short, but I'm not French. Stig I ain't.

I'm away for a couple of months - will finalise spec with dealer in May, get car asap after that.

Taken a lot of what you guys have said on board - x50 a must - ditching carbon - decided against aerokit (due to ground clearance) etc etc.

I hate waiting.

GC why wait ?...surely there are enough nearly new X50 around for sale now.
I think this months Porsche post mag mentioned that in the last year to the UK Porsche had delivered more 996 Turbo than regular Carrera....very unusual.
