DONT ASK!, Wednesday is d-day, if the ECU has not arrived/does not work, the supercharger is coming off and winging its way back across the pond. I've finally had enough, in fact its put me off this power quest (both cars!). What with President Tony, stealth taxes, employment law and the current claims direct mentality, its time to sell up, buy an F40 and move to France

Know what you mean about President Blair BUT: in fact the British PM has always had more power than a US or even French president, who are constrained by written constitutions with checks and balances.
Here there is no such constraint, just the unwritten book of things Thou Shalt Not Do, which Thatcher tore up. So, given a huge Parliamentary majority, calling the PM presidential is in fact understating the state of affairs.
I'll get me coat.
Paul, I hope things work out on Wednesday,it sounds like you need something to go your way!
You are less keen to up the power on the S ? is that due to Predident Bliar or the rarity...if you did it dicretely you could still have fun on track days.
having said that you have got me thinking F40 in France...Hmmmmm....Fine as long as you don't have a radar detector on the car!
Good luck!

Deep down I want this supercharger to be a success, its just we fitted it in November and its still not running. If it works, both 944/68 and turbo s will have approx 295bhp ton!, it should fly
Daz summed it up about the 993 TurboS when he said that it was the last of the air cooled, as a part of Porsche history, it should be keep original-I now have to agree. Its just that Bruntingthorpe for me was more than just about speed, for me it was about the 993-996 who's best debate. I now know....996, its faster, easier to drive and just as pleasant to look at, shame it had to sacrifice part of its soul to get there

Paul, the 944/68 sounds awesome...it sounds like despite the hassle it's worth persevering with (cost permitting).
Bruntingthorpe was a very interesting & suprising day.
I think there are 30 rhd Turbo S so it makes sense to keep as it is...With the same 450 bhp I think a lot may have to do with the gearing of the S as well as the obvious aerodynamics.
The day was basically what the magazines never tell you!
I would be facinated to see how a 993 GT 2 would have fared on the day.Chances are with 2wd it would have less traction on the curve before the straight and perhaps failed to impress in the ultimate speed before braking....As you say soul is hard to measure on a Dyno but makes a hell of a difference in the real world.
Fingers crossed for the S/C...
