Just saw a 911 (993) T Cab at St Pauls... Looked lovely.

Bright blue with the reg 715 BHX.

Is this real? I thought they made something like 4 of them as specials?

I hope its ok to post reg nos. Would the moderators please remove it if it contravenes any rules.

There were some 12 or so commissioned by a Munich Porsche dealer, presumably all LHD. They are effectively a 993 cabriolet body with 964 turbo 3.6 running gear; i.e. not AWD.

There are other "specials" people have built and have been mentioned here in the past. Here's one: www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?p=1&f=&t=231298&h=0

As pheliX says "After the 3.3 liter G-model Turbo convertible (1987-89), Porsche never officially offered an air-cooled Turbo convertible again. However, in 1995 14 993 Turbo Cabriolets were sold before the introduction of the 993 Turbo coupe. They featured the 360 hp (DIN) single-turbo engine of the 964 Turbo 3.6, a 5-speed manual transmission and the wing of the 964 Turbo 3.6. This required a premium of DM 89,500 (or plus 62%) over the standard 993 Cabriolet's price." from here

I have seen two rhd 993 turbo cabs .... but they are bothe fakes i.e. they are 993 c2 cab's with rear wheel arches grafted on. To be fair thy were both pretty poor atempts imho and not in great nick upon close inspection

One has the turbo s body i.e. vents in the rear wings and one was a normal turbo body they were both metalic blue iris at a guess.

One was for sale by a company called private collection in marlow and the other was for sale via portiacraft in london, both about 35k last year.

I also seem to remmber that someone on here had a 993 cab with a gt2 engine in but it got written off not sure if it had the turbo body or not but seemed like a nice chap when I had a chat with him.

Not sure if the car seen at st pauls was one of these ?

p.s. The one car I wish Porsche had built I would have one tomorrow

Yes, I would have one in a heartbeat. Only thing I don't like about the 993 Cabs is the roof when down. I think it looks quit ungainly personally...
