Boxster S is a great little roadster and that sounds like good value. Could be very promising. Things to check:

- UK OPC Supplied?
- Full OPC Service History?
- Low no. of owners?
- Genuine mileage?
- Any accident repairs?
- High/desirable specification?
- Immaculate condition?
- Extended Porsche Warranty?

If it stacks up favourably, then you will need to get it PPI'd. If you get it done by an OPC and it is all ok, then you might be able to buy the warranty if it doesn't have one (recommended).

agree it seems good value, what is the rest of the spec like?

is "tan" the sellers euphemism for the dreaded savannah interior?

yeah, sorry to hijack this thread but why is savannah so damn popular? Each to their own but it looks ugly as sin to me.

you are confusing "popular" with "lots in the classifieds becasue no one will buy the horrible things"

a friend in the trade refers to it as suicide savannah

Many thanks for all of your comments... I thought for the money wanted it was priced very well... Here are the answers to some questions I asked....

Is it your car? Daily driver or weekend car?

1, I used to work for a company where the office was local so I used the Porsche, earlier this year I moved companies and not knowing where I would be working I took the company car option, so the Porsche sits on the drive all week and to be honest most week ends as if we go out I have to use the company car as I have 3 kids plus work pays for the fuel.

Why are you selling it?

2, I am selling it because it does not get used enough for the money it is costing to just be sat there on the drive.

Does it have full Porsche Service history?

3, pretty certain it is a full history at either nick whale or Solihull Porsche

Has it been in any accidents at all?

4, Not to my knowledge, I think its mint

Does it have a CD Changer

5 , CD player with the new remote radio no changer, the radio is also mp3 and mwa4 what ever that is.

Does it have the rear screen between the seats?

6, yes, I trust you mean the removable one that is in and also tinted along the same line as the windows

Why has it had a new clutch did it wear out? Also the Water pump what happened there?

7, I was taking my boy to footie around jan this year and it just went ! it was again done at nick whale sports cars,, the water pump again driving home last year from work it sprung a leak,, frightened the christ out of me as the water was dropping on to the hot engine and smelling terrible !! again the work was done at nick whale.

I would say for the majority of my driving days I have had a company car, and only had to buy for my wife and the market to me looks to be full of dodgy sellers and cars,,, this is an honest car with a genuine reason for a very reasonably priced sale and you wouldn’t go wrong with it.

I'm torn now if to look at it or not....

Ignore other people's comments about colours.

They are purely a personal choice and only you can judge whether you like it or not. The cabin in the Boxster is quite small so it benefits from something other than coal pit black. IMO black and tan look fine.

Go and see the car and, if everything stacks up, get it PPI'd. Then decide/negotiate.

Good luck. I did 75k in my Boxster and loved every minute. If you are definately interested absolutely make sure you have a pre purchase inspection at your local Official Porsche Centre and then invest the £725 on an extended warranty. Will allow you to sleep much better in the event that something goes bang......

It needs a new screen..
A 12k service
The leather needs a good treatment
Where the sat nav has been in the cradle(shown in pic)it has marked the top of the dash and the windscreen piller trim... it needs a smart repair... I just like my cars mint...
I'd like to get both door shuts repainted as well to take away some marks where people have got in and out....

Other than that..... more polish!!!

Search around for threads on Zymol (my favourite) Mequirs and P21, there's been loads of debate about which is best. TBH, they're all pretty good and it usually ends up being a bit of a pissing match
