hi modding my 996 tt and a lot of the performance packs seem to include bosch spark plugs as part of the upgrade can anyone tell me why, what plugs do porsche fit and why ant they up to the job, also if anyone no's the part no of these bosch plugs it would be a great help so i can get some tomoro thanks

Bosch FR6LDC is the right plug. Porsche used in the first Turbo's the Beru FR5 and later replaced under warranty for Beru FR6's which are equivalent to the Bosch but the later is known as being alot better and handle better the BMEP (brake mean effective pressure).

Standard plug is the Beru, I'm sure they used to run a different heat range and this was eventually upgraded, It does performs ok but the Bosch FR6 is a better/longer performance plug.

It's actually very easy! (only if you have correct tools to do it)

First time it taken me roughly 4 hours, the second time was just over 2.

I have run a gt2 on standard plugs for the 24k service interval with almost 600bhp and no probs on plugs ....

You have to take off the rear bumper etc..
