Morning all, just wanted to say Hi.

I have just re-joined the Porsche ownership fraternity after 3 years of absence. my first adventure was a Black 964 C4 Cab (later found to be a lemon) which gave me 2000 pleasurable miles before the enging blew up and footed me a £4k bill and the loss of my Splitscreen camper in the bargain. As you can imagine I was rarther put off Porsche ownership after that.

After defecting back to Jap mobiles for a couple of years I'm back with a 2002 996 C2 Coupe in Guards Red and what I think are some nice options IMO to complete the car tastefully.

Sports Exhuast
Sports chassis and Suspension
Red backed sports seats
Red Belts
Side Skirts
Crested Headrests
Red Callipers
18" Wheels (not sure what they are called)
Sound Pack

I must say I am soooo pleased with it I have not stopped smiling since Thursday when i picked it up and probably will not stop for some time.

Having read a lot of the posts here, everyone seems very helpful and I look forward to getting involved.

Now why did I ever leave !

Chris

Welcome back!!

The car looks fantastic. The 18" jobbies are the optional "carerra" alloys and IMHO they look great on a red car with the big red calipers showing through.

I sincerely hope your recent purchase is not a lemon and that you have many pleasurable miles of pork ownership

You bought the one at Cridfords, lovely looking car that i nearly went for it myself.

Incredibly low mileage as I remember.

Have fun in it

Yes, the mileage was only 10900 when I picked it up.
Also just had 1k's worth of 48000 mile service at OPC Guilford

Very pleased.

Deal, it'll cost you an afternoon in a monkey suit.

Chris, lovely looking car. The sports exhaust and uprated suspension are two very desirable options on a 996 IMO. A few years back, I drove an early 996 with standard exhaust/suspension and I found the car rather souless and a bit like driving a BMW or Merc and I bought a GT3 as a result but later had a go in a similar spec 996 to yours and was very impressed. Have a lot of fun with it.
