The new car has Porsche Motorsport magnesium wheels with centre lock nuts. Two questions:
- what is the nut size
- what torque setting do I need

I believe the nut is 32mm torqued up to 450NM but before I go any buy a bigger torque wrench I just wanted to check. Any suggestions on where to get the nut and/or torque wrench? Otherwise I guess I'll just search on google.

Also, if anyone knows where to get the bits for the airjack please let me know. I have the lance but not the tank (I guess a diving shop?) or the regulator.

Many thanks
Z

Bergmeister or Paul Mc are the guys to answer this.

I recall tightening a BBS centre lock once and was told it was 700 ft/lb......it nearly killed me!!

I appreciate it may be less on the speedlines, but don't attempt to drive the car until you get it right, even 450 may not be enough!!!!

So come on Zub, spill the beanz,,,,you can't keep posting these teasers about new pork forever...

I hope it is a nice 993 cup, but whatever it is I am sure we will all respond positively

All will be revealed in due course. Car was transported into the UK today but I haven't seen it yet. When I have it in my garage then I'll let you know!

I have a large Britool torque wrench - about 3 ft long, that goes up to 320Nm. For the sort of torque you are looking at you will need a rather larger one, probably with some form of extension bar. Snap On do them see here:

This is specialist bit of kit and is reflected in the price 0uch!!! Then again to a man of your means that's not a problem. Bet you can't wait for it to arrive.

Regards
Steve

Alternatively keep an eye out on EBay, these are often sold quite cheaply because of the limited demand. You also need to be sure that the spring is in good condition an preferably calibrated in the last 12 months.

Thanks for the link Steve but a £1,500 torque wrench looks a bit excessive...

32mm nut
If new nuts,360nm and no more,if they are old nuts that have been overtorqued then 450nm.
Wrench and deep socket from King Dick,up to 500nm and accurate, about £350+vat.Its a cantalever type,so only 3 feet long.(dont buy a cheap one!)
You will find a scuba bottle does not last long,at least 2.Mind you a few racers have there own compressor at the circuits,so will recharge for a beer or 2.
My factory cup book says 450nm,i got new nuts and torqued to 360nm,even on the gt2 racer.
450 is to tight for new nuts, and makes the nut belly out.

zub.
Forgot to say about the reg,boc do some proper regs for the job,not cheap but safe.
The air jacks work at 350psi,put the lance on the car first and then crack the valve /reg open slowly.
Best not to tell any one about your new car, just fly by them!
Also driving down to the ring in the rs,probably with a couple of crazy guys from norfolk, fingers crossed for good weather. The food, beer and company are always good, but then again not sure about some of the company,eh boys!

Bergy, I hope you are not suggesting Imom and I reside in Norfolk, more interbreeding there than your neck of the woods.

Are you taking your King dick down to Adnenau for a work out or are you letting primo have a go?

Taking the Russell Hobbs to see what it's all about. Having the cage beefed up and then ready to go. Have you and primo booked the Am Tiergarten or a Suite at the Cheri?
