Hi just bought a 996 2000 (Yet to collect!) Insurance say they require a Thatcham immobiliser. Does it come fitted with one as standard?

Yes they do.

All UK models have a Thatcham category One alarm immobiliser as standard.

get a tracker fitted as well and it'll pay for itself.

(not literally, that would be far too clever)

depends where you live.

It only reduces your premium if you are in a C or lower insurance area...

Also, you have to think who gains from a tracker, you or the insurance company? Is the reduction in premium really worth it? Would you want your car returned if some idiot has just thrashed it? I personally would not, therefore I have not renewed the tracker contract on my secondhand 996 that I have just bought.
