Just noticed a small amount of oil on the garage floor ......... people say it,s normal for a porsche to leak a small amount of oil ...is this true or am i looking at a a nasty bill short term ..... only been a porsche owner for a month so pardon my lack of knowledge ... oh yeh 80K and full service history .....

Little oil no problem. Keep an eye on how much you need to top up? Also some oils are thinner and leak, some of the older 911's prefer thicker oil. Next service you have, discuss with a knowledgeable mechanic. Welcome and enjoy your 911.

There's plenty of places for the oil to come from.

The usual one is the oil return tubes. They allow the oil to return from the head, to the crank case. They are sandwiched horizontally between the former and the latter, and vertically between the cylinders and the exhaust heat exchangers. You can get collapsible replacements. They save you from having to strip the engine.
