I thought I had a half decent deal with Carole Nash on my 3.2 @ approx 370 quid fully comp on a 5000 limited mileage policy... But Ive had the renewal through and they want a few pence short of 500 quid this year... How can they justify that!?

Anyone else received inflated renewal quotes recently or am I just getting ripped off here?

its probbably just the std letter they send out hoping you just pay it, call A-plan and ask them if they can beat last years quote, then see what CN have to say about the new price.

Mine stayed about the same @ £389 on the 968 similar policy to yours 5000 miles a year, RH have got it down to £299 but don't cover track days (if you need that)?

Although my insurance is overdue I'm probably going to pay £393 with A Manning as they cover all trackdays through PCGB and ATDO (Association of Track Day Organisers) at no extra cost.

Must do that today as my car's not been used for 2 weeks and I want to go out for a play at the weekend!

They probably bought your business last year and this time the premium is more realistic. I shop around every year and always change to a different company. There is always a company on the look out for new business who are willing to buy your business ie waive most of their commission!
Try confused.com first as this ticks off at least 20 insurance people from the list.

Just tried confused.com and they couldnt get under 500 either...

I had a call back from 'A Plan', and apparently because Im currently unemployed they cant get any decent quotes from their panel... what difference that makes I dont know, its a classic policy Im after not a commuting or business use etc etc...mad

Looks like Carole Nash currently has me by the b@lls...

Hey, I *dream* of £500 insurance! Even with 18 years driving experience, a clean licence and 12 years NCD, my insurance is £1500 on a Cayman regardless of the fact it's underpowered (Quote: KayC)!

I'm fortunate enough to live in London. Great city but lots of theft & lots to bang into.

Bloody hell - and I thought my S2000 insurance at £750 with 9 years NCB was bad!

Are you loaded down with claims and points, pikey? Or do you live in Chavsville Central and so the risk of theft is huge?

(My 993 Targa proved to be a couple of hundred quid cheaper than the Honda, despite being worth more and having more horse power. Go figure...)

I'm clean with loads of NCD. No disabilities, no previous bans, always a UK resident & licence, I can see properly, etc...

The town / part of London I live in is of typically low income being largely housing association owned, but there are two "nice" roads and I reside in one of them. Both the house and car insurance people rate the area as very bad for theft.

I do like the house and the road though. Nice, decent sized Victorian place, close enough to London so no commuting problems and the road is very friendly. Real community spirit and I know lots of neighbours. The only down side is the cost of insurance!

I'm in E14 in a nice nice apartment block with underground parking adn remote entry, plus 24 hour security and CCTV. 35, full protected NCD and clean licence. £1500, so Pikey is about right.
