I use the car at the weekend only - so on a Sat morning when i try to open the car using the remote key fob, nothing happens. The only way I can open the door is manually but this triggers off the alarm. I turn off the alarm by using the key fob. Now on subsequent journeys say in the afternoon or Sunday, the car CAN be opened and closed using the remote key fob. The following weekend, I am back to initially opening the car door manually.

Anyone know what is going on? Weak battery?

Sounds like a weak battery....Maybe its still discharging significant amounts when the car is parked for a few days.

Doesn't the remote sensor switch off to save the battery after a while? You need to use the key to 'wake it up' without opening the door then use the fob to relock it and unlock it again -turning off the alarm.

Mine does this if I havent used it for a while.

Yep...But I was told by the sales chap it takes a week or so before you need to open it with the key....Not in a few days...

If you don't open the car within (I think) 1 week, it goes into a sleep mode. you can then open it with the key without alarm going off in 1 direction (can't remember which way you turn though)

mine goes into sleep mode at 5 days to preserve the battery and then can only be opend with the key and sets off the alarm then sets of the horn aswell when you open the door, once key is in ignition its sorted.

you can prolly change the amount of days I guess but never looked into it.

What I meant was, I don't open the car with the key, I put the key in the door and turn it (anti-clockwise I think) then take it out, then use the remote, that way you will get no alarm going off!

yes That's the only way to get in silently once she's been stood for more than five days.
