Ive just purchased a my first 911 a 996 C4 cab on a W plate, after owning Boxsters for the last 5years I am truly amazed just how different ownership feels to that of the aformentioned boxster, probably down to a deep seated child hood longing for a 911!!! Ive had my 996 for about 2weeks now and in that time Ive asked a couple of questions on the forum, to which Ive had some very helpful advice, Id firstly like to say thankyou kindly to all concerned, your advise has been very helpful. Secondly I have yet another question, which is as follows....is it possible to find out what work has been carried out on the vehicle from the OPC's its been serviced at. My new car came with full OPC service history but very little in the way of paperwork and receipts of work carried out, its incredibly clean and well looked after, but if at all possible Id like to know just whats been done in its life time to date. As always your comments are greatly appreciated.

Hi ya - yes if you know which ones have serviced it. They all seem to keep records, but the database isn't linked between all the dealers (like say Ford garages do). There aren't many dealers in the country in any case so I guess if you called them all and asked for service records on this reg number and VIN, you'd get the answer eventually.

I contacted a couple of OPC a few years ago with the date of the service stamp and a photocopy of the cars V5 proving my ownership, in return they all sent me photocopies of invoices with the previous owners credit card number blanked for obvious security reasons.

Yes just give them a ring. I was missing a couple of bits for mine that the service book showed had been done at West London, just gave them a buzz and they posted me the copies. No problem. My address appeared on their computer as the present owner of the car so there was no need for me to prove ownership.

Oh, and well done for moving up the ladder. I wonder how long the average time with a boxster is before moving up to a 911?
