944 S2 Battery Nightmare
Discussion
Having returned from a nastry trip to Beirut i was planning to take the little beast out this morning. Turns out she had other ideas. As soon as i press the indent button on the fob for the PA 2000 system, the alarm goes off. Several attempts to disable the siren by pressing the button go unnoticed. She continued to wail. The alarm would go off in 10-15 second bursts and then have a 5 second rest. This continued until I disconnected the battery. Having reconnected it, I was then able to try and turn the engine but it chose not to. Im guessing that I have a flat battery and that the solution might be to get a new one?
Any thoughts on brand / model. I have seen that eurocarparts stocks a Bosch. Links / thoughts / ideas etc welcomed! Cheers!

How long were you away? Might it just be flat & need chargeing? Have you checked it with a Hydrometer? When was the last time you had the alarm serviced/changed keyfob battery & checked it?
Probably is the battery but it pays to check first. Could be earth lead problems or a host of other things!
If it is the battery make sure the new one is up to the job. 70 A/Hr I think would be correct but you need to check that. A three year warenty is a good guide to quality.

ok so the saga has finally ended. i schleped a new halfords super calcium jobby 2 miles back to my flat and after some fob tomfoolery everything now appears to be in order. i guess that will teach me for going against best instincts (i sensed that the battery was on its way out because of longer than normal turnover at start). lesson learned. thats nurb for your hand.
