If this isn't another joke thread.... someone has a piece of motoring history for less than market value.

Good purchase on the front end Henry.... Good purchase customer.

I agree,

I'd have bought that if I had £50k spare!

Enjoy, and whip some lambo ass!

It seems that this particular example has been used for its (marketed) intended purpose, rather than sitting outside a London establishment while the owner throws his car keys on the bar...

was it traded ?

Hmmmmm, I thought that, but knowing HFs abilities he's most likely done a deal with a private punter

Remember :

Buy on condition not mileage

(Unless it's less than 12 months old (then mileage is everything)) and its condition means nothing

Never try and sell to a private punter you'll ,get stitched up royally

The best colours/specs are the ones I've got in stock (not the colour you want, but hey it's "individual"

And most importantly..........Keep smiling

Was speaking to a very knowledgeable Porsche engineer last night and he told me there are various ways to get hours even if ECU has been removed.. obviously I wont divulge the info but they check if asked to so..

Also the ECU hours v miles calculation is done as part of the 111 point which I didnt realise..

Surely with this particular car, Henry's addage of buy on condition and not mileage is absolutely paramount! I must admit, I could fully understand Henry's frustration about the alledged mileage of this car. I had little interest in the car (but the thread was hilarious), wasnt a punter for it, hadnt splashed out any cash to buy it and wasnt going to, had read all the threads on it and I didnt have a clue what the mileage was likely to be. How the hell anybody else thought they did or that Henry should is beyond me! The only 2 figures given were the dodgey 20k reading in the car and Lonman saying it had 28k on when he flogged it. After that...nada! The whole ECU hours, working out, etc, etc, for a 2nd hand retailing Indie? Not servicing or upgrades outlet, but just a retailing Indie...and you seriously expect them to go to those lengths? Knock it off and pull the other one, none of you did, you just wanted a stick to beat him with.

Ive never been a great fan of the 996 GT2, but this car has probably done more than anything else to turn it from being a fairly derided turkey into another Stuttgart legend! The damn thing has outrun Florida (all of it, not just the cops!) p1ssed all over the chips of every other Super and Hyper car on the planet, whupped Sabine on her own patch and been banned from the Ring. It is still hanging together, the engine is still sound and it is still worth £50k ! Christ, if I were Porsche, Id have bought the bloody thing for a Global TV ad campaign, thrown £1m at a "re-creation" of its most famous accolades and finished it off with a blank black screen with simple white/silver letting front and centre...
