I have finally taken the plunge. I have done the deal on a 996 GT2. I pick her up on Thursday. I can hardly wait! A big thanks (i think) to simonharrod for the encouragement and LincsGT2 who gave me a passenger ride in his...i was smitten from then. It's terrible what a passenger ride can do laugh

....my other half wasn't too chuffed when i told her it was known as "The Widowmaker" laugh

Hi Andy

Lovely (looks like mine!)

I've got michelin's, the grip is fantastic, utterly fantastic in the dry, but it's still easy to spin in 3rd gear (70-80mph) in the wet.

Congratulations WN, but..................

What kind of post is this ? .....................one totally lacking in information that's what.

As a bare mimimum we need to know the following
Mileage ?
Year ?
Spec ?
Mods ?
Purchased from ?
Asking price (don't answer that if you'd rather we didn't know

First of all, many many congratulations on your purchase. The car looks simply fantastic.

My mere C2 has just has Mich tyres fitted. Previously it had P zero's and it used to tramline like crazy.

Now it is bloody brilliant. grip is excellent, wet or dry and high speed stability is transformed

course, the power of my c2 is slightly different to the portable suicide facilitator you have bought so I am not sure if my comments have any real relevence. I am sure Simon can help.

Once again bloody well done. Am well chuffed for you.

The Michelins are the best for the job!! , but watch the rear-end grip in the wet !! Leaves are particulary 'challenging"!!

Wait 'til Mr. Harrod sees those comfort seats, he'll throw a wobbler !!

Thats 4 x GT2's within about a 20 mile radius isn't it?? - is that a record?!? Even 'that-there-London' doesn't have such a concentration of these cars, surely ?

ahhh Congrats! Excellent news! Bought my GT2 back in september, enjoying it everyday!

Manthey setup sounds like a good idea and you may want to do some homework on changing the ceramics if you are going to track it - apparently JZ are good to talk to.

Where are all these meets taking place??? I'd be interested in tagging along beer

Enjoy it!

P.S.

I am running mine on Yokohama AVS Sport (thats what they had when I bought it) and to be fair they seem pretty decent but I'd go on what the guys here with more GT2 experience recommnend. Porsche recommended Conti Sports Contact to me and I hear Pirelli Corsa Motorsport are good too. Personally I'd just buy the best tyre available.
