If it is an early shell one. Pe 85.A std gutter fix one will fit.
I have carried a wave ski hundreds of miles like that with no worries.
I think you can get them for the later ones (S2 etc)
I have not bothered as the car has to go to be replaced by a people carrier
, oh the shame!

It is a later car 1991, but I can't find the rack anywhere I have searched the net and contacted lots of dealers but no joy.

You'll just have to be patient Rolfie.

There weren't many sold and AFAIK they were discontinued years ago. In the 8 years I have had my 944 I have noticed may be half a dozen for sale in the Porsche Mags, Ebay and PH classified. OK, so I haven't been looking for one, but I still don't think they come up very often.

I have seen this before - once. I think you need Thule mounting kit 220, then some 'flat feet' for the back of the rack. The front legs clamp to the roof line and the back legs just sit there. I'm sure you'll find one if you search world-wide rather than just UK.

I've also seen a Boxster with a tow bar!

I bear the sad tidings that Studog, formerly of sound mind and body has now traded up from his 944 to a Renault Megane Scenic.

silly

B......H... I had no idea my transport choices were of such mass interest.

Yes the S2 has gone. I will be back again with one of Germany's finest at
some point but it is time out for now.

With a little one on the way I will not have time to look after four cars and
I would rather not see my agreeably very nice S2 get shabby and unloved with weeds
growing around it.
I have not quite lost all reason as I still have my Seven and
that is going nowhere, not ever. Not a porsche I agree but great fun.

Apparently you need the Thule 034 foot kit which is no longer being manufactured. In a rennlist post someone stated: "In the UK the Rover 416 (J-reg) fits the 944, and as its an old rover there cheap as chips." This is probably worth checking into...

Granted but pouring salt on wounds is no fun for anyone.

Lets just say I have kept very quiet but the car was a wrong un.
Thats why I wouldn't sell it on PH or privately.

Secret pack between Me, Claire and Millbank.

Lets just say I was right when I thought that it didn't seem to
have much torque.

I think we`ve got a Thule rack kicking around somewhere with ski clamps & keys. I`ll see if I can find it.

Sh1t.! I'm really sorry to hear that mate.. now I realise why you seemed less fussed than I thought you'd be about letting it go.
