Zymol, is it as good as the claims and if so which one should I get for a Seal Grey Boxster. Titanium or Concours?

It is good but v expensive,,,,,concours shines the best,Titanium is not too far behind in terms of glossiness but offers better protection from stone chips on track days...I went for Titanium...I will be trying other carnuba waxes before I splash out the money again.

Concours works for me but I actually find most of the good work seems to be done by the HD cleanser (pre -waxer). The way it removes haze marks and swirlies from medium-darker finishes is astonishing, especially in direct sunlight.

Arduous but worthy; until you drive...then you realise you don't live in California and you've just wasted 8 hours because the whole shooting match is a dirt bowl. Sod.

I'm a cheapskate and use the stuff from Halfords at a tenner a bottle. This is a four year old Boxster that lives outside...

Yes even the cheap stuff is good

Buy Some.

What a delightfully clean example, Doctor.

Must say, the only bugger with this stuff that I find(particularly noticeable with v.dark colours) is the crumb-like residue that manifests post pre-wax and becomes quite tricky to remove along certain ultra thin cover, join or seam lines (like along the protectorate film down the rear flanks of the 993).

I'm sure Daventroid Greggenheim will give me a ticking orf for inappropriate useage. He usually does.

DeR: YOU'RE DOING IT ALL WRONG, MAN!!

Seems like you're putting too much of the choccy sauce on, old boy. Remember what I said, two squirts and that should do it. Its better to apply too little than too much.

Mind you, if the panel gaps were half decent on that Beetle of yours, I wouldn't be typing this

Thanks, DeR - It didn't last long .

It's currently filthy after some midnight action on the moors a couple of nights ago. Still can't get near the limit of handling though - need bigger balls.

DrG - you *need* a track day..somewhere with loads of runoff. Finding the limit suddenly on a public road with a ditch waiting for you isn't a good idea . The place to do it is someplace wonderful like Silverstone where you can edge the car nearer and nearer to the point where it will let go in the knowledge that if you do stuff it up there's plenty of space for the car to run wide.

You *know* it makes sense. Book onto one now! (Only a few weeks to go to PCGB Castle Combe event. Yipee!

Don,

I've been thinking about doing a track day. Sounds like fun and a chance to get some instruction as well. I'll check the PCGB site.

You are of course quite right, it's just that when I drive what I feel to be quickly on some challenging roads this thing just laughs at me! I suspect i'm a looong way off it's limits and it's got bigger nads than I have!
