Sorry to hear that. I hope he takes it easy and recovers soon.

Does that mean he'll be checking out the tiptronics?

Wishing him a fast recovery. He should look at the bright side: Two broken legs is still better than what the GT2 is usually known for...

Damn. Get well, Karl. Hopefully no lasting damage done to anyone, and if nothing else, another hair-raising story for the bar.

Edited by dazren on Sunday 12th November 18:27

Edit - Oops. Am I not allowed to mention bars by name? I'd mentioned the bar in question because Karl and some of his buddies raised my hair there a few weeks ago with some cracking tales of narrow escapes and general derring do.

Best wishes for a full and speedy recovery.

But also begs the question, who was driving ?

Or rather, how is the driver, and are they a PHer?

Thats why I hate borrowing my car... last time I borrowed my Z3M Iwas in passenger seat as well and the guy that was driving tried to impress me, result?

hitting a sidewall and a tree at 50mph sideways! He nearly got both killed!

Hope he recovers quickly!

Hi Karl,
hope you're well enough to read this.
If you can, you'll be fine.
We've never met before, but I read your post's, and always visualise you as Mr Spock.
[Almost logical, as he would say]

Two things for your recovery.

1,Don't suffer in pain.
Don't skimp on pain killers, if you feel pain, insist on them.
If they are not effective, tell the doctor, don't be fobbed off with the nurse, ask to see the registrar at least, ang get yourself a PCA. [Patient controlled analgesia- you press a button to self medicate]

2,If your extremely lucky, you'll just be in plaster.
If you have had any invasive procedure [open surgery with plates and screws, or an external fixater applied with wires protruding from your legs onto a cylindrical support frame] you need to take special precautions not to aquire an infection accidentally.

Before anyone touches you, any member of staff, insist they wash their hands first.
It doesn't matter who they are, if they are to touch you, ask them to wear gloves and an apron after washing their hands. Not rubbing them with alcogel, this isn't nearly as effective as washing your hands.
This is very important, especially concerning orthopaedics.
Insist.
Most infection control reports highlight “handhygiene” as the singlemost important factor in reducing avoidable hospital aquired infection.

Apart from that just get better.

Shit the other GT2 I know of in Ireland was in the North and also ended meeting the scenary 6 months ago....The stats are not too good for GT2 owners in Ireland...

Best of luck Kleonard, swift recovery....

PS: Last week I visited one of the most modern crash test center in North America in Detroit, all I can say is that if you have a crash, make sure not to impact from the side......I have seen the results, and it is never good news....
