996 GT2 Prices?
Discussion
Been looking at the few cars for sale recently and figures seem to be around the high 60's at the moment. My question to owners who have recently acquired their cars or other prospective buyers is, is this generally where prices are at the moment or am I looking in the wrong places???
Prices sourced primarily from Pistonheads classifieds & Autotrader, typically around the 20,000 miles mark on MY02/03.
I'm looking at hopefully jumping into something early next year, looking for a "Comfort" model obviously in tip top condition. Any help with pointing me in the right direction as well as idea's on prices would be gratefully appreciated.
Thanks,
C.

That is about the right price bracket for a GT2 02/03 car with those miles these are a proper supercar and numbers are falling rapidly i know of 5 that have been written off and it will go up and up....!!
So the prices of gt2 cars will hold strong in the future in my opinion.
These cars were £130k when new thats alot of depreciation !
£60-70K seems reasonalble for what you are getting.

I may not be the best person to ask because I believe on not arsing around for the sake of a few grand and potentially paying for the car I want - trust me I like a bargain and I made a few offers when looking for mine....so let me tell you briefly what I found when I went shopping for a GT2 in september.....
04 cars....are rare...be VERY careful here as I almost f*cked up here...I saw an 04 car for 82k with very low miles, it was mint and I agreed 78k on it from a dealer but when I spoke to porsche and checked the chassis number it turned out to be an 03 model registered in 04, this was a mark 1 GT2 and not the mark 2.....that I believe is 15k price difference brand new...so I walked away as although it was a lovely car it already wasn't exactly what I wanted as I wanted bucket seats etcs.
Interestingly I also spoke to another guy with a garage who had a genuinie 04 model and I was struggling to get him to sell much lower than his 80k asking price, I reckon 78 at a push but then he took it off the market and decided to keep it.
Mark one cars.....again these are becoming rarer...there are quite a few owners on PH so i reckon mid/high 60s should get you a nice example. I bought an 02 model in the end as it was the GT2 RS version done by specialist cars of malton. I paid the guy a good price for it because I wanted it and loved the car, mind you he paid a stack load more than me a few months before.....that car that has been posted above...the black GT2....thats the garage where we had the slight misunderstanding on 03/04 models - but I would suggest you go view it as Mike there is a decent guy and very professional - he has a barn for of exotic cars......just keep searching the web.....

this one has been there for ages....I think its on sale or return....if you like the look of it I think there is a thread where someone on PH knows the owner so perhaps you can deal direct.....good luck though..awesome cars!
P.S.....don't rule out bucket seats, I had sports seats in a C4 996 and now i find the bucket seats far more comfortable just a touch awkward to get in and out of

surely that makes me a knob then....
it had gt3 style wheels
i didnt know if rear wing was an option and it just didnt have that as an option
i test drove it in the worst weather possible....floods!
it had a DMS upgrade so 530bhp....and even if it hadn't would I really notice the extra 20bhp or not!
i must be a crap driver as the 03/04 suspension was hard to compare 1) in the wet 2) having not driven a GT2 before at that stage

You.......know.......NOTHING.
The one chez Billy L's is far from poor.
It's such a great car, the GT2, so special yet a million miles away from the chest beating antics of say, a Diablo and yet both are possossed of that carnal, devilish, schpincter snatchonomy which I suppose, heightens the allure even more.
The GT2 boys are right when it comes to the looks, as well: there is a purposefulness of stance simply not present with lesser 996s but ultimately, where it counts, it is via that unbridled, killer delivery, that the final moment of toe curling ecstacy occurs.
I'm beginning to want. Joyous.

Ahhhh no sir, that'd be the 996 TT you're thinking of. The GT2 is an event to drive
