I just happened to be browsing their stock list and noticed the Lapis Facelift 996 was still there...

I wonder if anyones seen it and knows why it hasnt sold? I'm guessing its been the moon and back? But it was the exact car I wanted when shopping earlier in the year (till I got my rather good 3.4 996) and its taunting me...

Hmm. dunno - looks like a good 'un im guessing maybe as you say the miles could be intergalactic. Also maybe the spec is a bit boggo ?, no 18 inch carerra's, no PSE, no sat nav, no Bose, etc etc. Possibly people are getting choosier about options ?

I know i was looking for a few of the option boxes to be ticked in my 996, but i guess if its a good car its a good car, regardless of what its got strapped to it.

Price is favourable too.

You tempted fidgits ?

R.

EDIT - i forgot to add maybe Lonman will be along later to say this was his "other" car that would explain it.

Not especially tempted, im very happy with my 3.4...

Its just sods law really, as it was the model/colour combo/spec I was looking for in an ideal world, and would've stretched the budget for it...

I was just hoping for someone to tell me it had done 200k, so I could reassure myself i wouldnt have touched it..

And I know i could just call Henry, but:
1. he's a salesman, he's unlikely to say, no, i dont want your buisness (although after the lonman thread, perhaps he might?)
2. i dont fancy his 'mileage unimportant' speech, right before telling me my 3.4's worthless as a trade in as its done 80k
3. I might have bad ideas about trading up already
oh, and
4. after hearing WW's PSE, I decided the next car should have one!

I was up there last weekend and had a glance over it. I asked Tom about the miles and the answer was "about 60K".....

As Tom said it`s done 63,000 miles. Most of the other 996`s are tiny numbers (10-25k ish) and so I`m afraid the prices are higher. Number on the speedo determines the most we can ask, the car it`s self the value up to that point.

For some reason we`ve come accross a load of lovely facelift 996`s recently so rude not to buy them! Struggling to find good "price-range" 996`s at the moment with most of the ones we`ve seen being rejected for one reason or another.

As for how long we have a car in stock I`ve never understood it. We get some cars in that are OK but nothing special and they fly away, other cars which are stunning and we are so excited to buy and they sit for a while until the right person comes along. I think that`s a very well priced entry into a 3.6 facelift 911.

I like this one:

"Pretty much perfect. A bold statement but both inside and out you will have to look long and hard to find fault. "

Perfect. Until you see the interior...

Ah, the legendary Savannah interior. I do wonder how even the consummate salesman like Henners is able to persuade punters to part with their readies for a car with a dogshit brown interior

I always wonder that. Someone flicking through the colour swatches: "Black? Too dark. Blue? Too strange. Grey? Too common. Ah, babyshite brown. Well, it's a toss-up between that and two-tone pink and black."

Savannah isn't my favourite colour, but I'd take it over that insipid light grey they used to use every time. Is it called marble grey? Just horrible.

Ah I see how you made the error in colour now .. You just got your animals confused .. Savannah is more sickly cat-shoite in colour .. And I should know , having a full savannah interior (And two cats!!)..
.. Having said all that , I'll happily go savannah next time too . I get a couple of grand off a car that basically does the same as every other of the same variant , (of course it helps that I happen to like savannah , but that's been done already)

That's Classic Grey I think. Marble is nearer to white.

No not savannah, a terracotta red (nothing like the photo!) and I can`t remember the correct name off hand. Actually I quite like it, for someone looking to venture away from silver with black / grey / blue a consideration.

Very hard capturing the exact colours inside a car, quite a few of the cars interiors differ from that of the photos, we constantly sell to people who say they almost didn`t come to see the car because they thought the interior was nasty in the photo!

Hi.

Classic grey is the same colour that's in a 993 Targa at 911 virgin now.

I have this in my car, and it's acceptable.

Marble grey is the lighter insipid white-ish grey that I actually prefer. Audi do a similar colour in the TT called Silver Nappa leather - good seller on TT, but for some reason not on 911!

Odd!
