Hi,

Been a while since I last posted, been enjoying the Porsche in the time being!

Unfortunately during the week I managed to go into the back of another car in stop-start traffic, and it looks like I'll need a new bumber as a small tow bar on the Peugot has punched a hole in mine - the repair shop I normally use (not that I crash often!) thinks they can plastic weld it for £300(ish) or get a new bumber for 700(ish). I want to keep it top notch so will go for the new bumper I think..

Which brings me on to my question I have always liked the face lift front bumper on the 911 (02-) with the big grills at either side - mine is currently a silver 2000 C2 with the Aerokit - now I don't know what this bumper would look like with my aerokit side skirts and the spoiler (and even if it will fit) what would you guys recommend?

Go with the Aerokit bumper and keep it as is, or the facelift bumper which I love - but not sure it will go with the rest of the aerokit, and not sure how much extra it will be as the lights are different I believe.

Thanks

John

To clarify ..

I have.. www.pistonheads.com/sales/images/105594-1.jpg
I want.. www.pistonheads.com/sales/images/114280-1.jpg

The lights are different, so I'm not sure how much extra the newer bumper would cost me.

The bumper you want is a turbo or C4S bumper.
I have heard you can fit one to your car, but you'll obviously need to fit the facelift lights as well.
I've heard (not sure about the truth behind it) that the wings are slightly different too...

By the time you've bought all the grilles, brackets, bumper skin, new lights etc I doubt you'd have much change out of £2000-2500 fitted and painted.

You could try the breakers to see if you can get the job lot used?

Hi

Thanks for the reply, I think the wings and spoiler (I know spoiler) are different - I don't want to replace these, I don't have the cash for that so I'd have the C4S bumper with the C2 Aerokit, to a porsche owner it may look a bit daft (comments? ) but to the average joe, and me I think it might look quite nice - will renew my love for the car without me upgrading to a newer one

If you go onto ebay you'll usually get one of thes for a lot less money than a new one.

John,

Premier Bodyshop at Luton (Porsche approved) did mine after a shunt last year.

Basically, You will need:

Bumper,
Lights
Wings
Inner wings
Internal airflow guides
headlight trays
Washer system (if fitted)
Plus various other bits.

Speak to Ken at Premier and he'll give a more detailed breakdown of requirements.

Its not cheap, but for me when allied to the 'shunt' repair, well worth the Effort.

Incidently a C2 with aerokit, sporting a C4S front end is going to end up looking very much like the C2 anniversary edition as standard isnt it ? - could be a worth a google to see how yours might well look once repaired.
