The GT3 is being featured on next weeks 5th Gear programme.

I wonder how poor a job they will do on presenting such a fine automobile!

Mr Needell - c'mon your country needs you!!

Tiff historically likes 911's..

But the few times i have seen fifth gear, its been him driving it round just one corner powersliding talking about balance...

Sooo... i dont expect to find out anything about the car tbh.

It is simply staggering how bad 5th Gear has become. They are trying to make it "funny", doing stunts etc, i.e. trying to Top Gear and failing miserably. What is wrong with making a good car programme?

Oh you cynic. I'm sure they will give it a full, professionally unbiased review.

And then race it against a donkey on a beach or see how many midgets they can fit inside.

there was some dribble on last night, from the Ace cafe. Utter shite with a shite american band who talked about shite american cars, from which point I could feel my life force being drained from my body and switched over...

Think it was 5th gear.

It depends whether he has had decent access to the PCGB UK press car, or whether it was just one of the earlier 'introductory jaunts' in Europe.

You can't admit to liking Nissan 200sx's and then start slagging American cars..

They'll just take it shopping or something equally irrelevant (but not as amusing as midgets).

We're talking about MG Midgets right?

my old 200sx was fab Ill have you know!

they were talking to a crap yank band about what cars they had at home, all of them Ive not even heard of as they are Yank cars only/old yank stuff.

Seeing that we are in the UK, some relevance to UK cars might have been good for the 5th gear to keep the attention span of their viewers or me at least I would suggest for next time.

I caught the bit with the yank band in it. Hmm... they were called "Awesome", and im sure they must have got together when they all failed to win parts as extras in Bill and Ted's excellent adventure, due to a catastrophic wardrobe failure.

Also werent they introduced as being "here to tell us about their American Muscle car collection" ? - one of them didnt own any car he could remember the name of, another had some sort of rusting shed which apparently "is like totally kept on his driveway dude, and his dogs have like totally moved into the car now to the max, far out". One of them owned a new Mustang though apparently.

Gods trousers. Then the inane grinning tt went on to ask them a tedious set of questions about the UK highway code. I dont remember why or what the outcome was, as presumably this was when i had run frantically to the kitchen to find a rusty fork to poke repeatedly into my own eyes.

Please someone make this show stop.

I agree.

What is with this change of format on 5th gear.

They have been handed a golden opportunity to "overtake" Top Gear, if you'll pardon the corny joke, due to the Hammond accident!

And instead they've made a real cock up of the whole show, with VBH having to try really hard to hold the whole thing together since that Tim Lovejoy character obviouslt knows NOTHING about cars!!!!!!

(In fairness to him on the Sunday morning programme he does "Something for the weekend" he does actually do a decent job.)

However Tiff is only going to try to put into words that no car is really perfect for him as he's such a good driver, so I fear it won't be a subjective test of the new 997GT3.

Now if EVO magazine did a TV show, I would pay money to se it - that would be real performance car testing!

The band were "Orson" and they make listenable music.

Didn't know shit about cars though, and were boring as a sales conference on TV...

I made a door for my shed, therefore cunningly missing it. Next week I might have to watch some gloss paint drying around that time, although given what they did to that beautiful GT40 last time I might find 'car crash morbidity' takes over and I'll watch them wreck a perfectly good GT3 instead banghead. Hmm, paint's tempting me now..

Heartily agree with all the above. "Fifth Gear" has become utter rubbish lately. Why oh why did we need to see a feature on VHB being pulled along by a motor bike in to a pond!?! rage What the hell has that got to do with cars?!? And who is that lemon she presents with in the Ace Cafe? The other week he got out a GT40 because it was being driven too fast....jeez, what did he expect, a steady plod round to test the mpg figures? Having said all this, like a fly goes back to sh1t I'll be watching again next week for the GT3 feature. wobble
