Whilst dropping my Mk2 GT3 in for some work at OPC Guildford today, I saw a brand new 997 GT3 RS being prepped for its new onwer.

It was black, with orange decals, silver wheels with orange wheel centres, and orange cage.

All I can say is that it looked utterly stunning.

To date I have resisted any thought of trading in my heavily Manthey fettled GT3, but after seeing that car in the flesh, I can feel myself weakening.

If the car belongs to anyone of this board, all I can say is Enjoy! driving

Silver wheels, on a black car with orange trim, sounds bloody awful but somehow I bet its not!

As someone said recently...good sports cars can wear nearly any colour scheme chucked at them!

Greetings everyone

it was still there at 8am this morning - imo one of the best looking 911s ive ever seen - the unpainted wheels finish it off so well

I'm sorry to say that I don't think that looks very good. Not seen it in the flesh, but the orange on black doesn't do it for me. And the alloy colour wheels with the orange centres look wrong. All a bit Halfords IMO.

Agreed.

I bet it gets them in the next few months though.

The problem with offering many options is that some people think that they have to elect them all.silly

Thats truely horrible.

The silver wheels just look odd, and as for the orange wheel centres hurl

For someone with simple tastes, I am strangely drawn to that.

Black wheels would be better though.

Comparing orange and black RSs next to each other, orange looked better to me. The paint could be flat - it has a depth you can't appreciate in photos.

Well I know you're not shy and that colour combo should get you plenty of attention at your local drive through on a Saturday night. Green will look great, but orange wheels - tell me you're joking.

From the various pics I've seen I would say that the orange doesn't work as a accent colour, but looks fine as the main body colour. If it were me I think I'd go for green with black wheels or silver with black wheels.

As an aside. looking at the pictures of the current white PCGB GT3 car doing th rounds it seems to have body coloured (white) front lower lip spoiler and lower side skirts. Where as the RS versions seem to have these areas in black, which looks better IMO.

Yep much better. The silver wheels together with the yellow break calipers look at bit like the effort of an overeager fiveyearold...

Sorry, looks awful with Silver wheels, should have gone the whole hog in my opinion. Having said that of course its easy to sort and if the owner is happy with it good on him!

Think the standard GT3 looks soooo much better.

No doubting the RS will be a brilliant car but unfortunately onlookers will just think 'tosser'.
