Hi all

After what seems like an age in the making I'm finally in the position to buy a car that is just for me, and after a brief flirtation with either an S4 or M3, I've done the decent thing and decided to get a 911. (Still haven't decided on a 996 or a 993 Carrera S...any further advice welcome as my budget is now around £29k)

Anyway, my real question is this. Despite this car being 'mine', there is every chance that I'll have to transport the wife and my two-year-old on occassion, so does anyone out there attempt similar feats and if so, what kiddie car seats would you recommend?

Bit of a dull question really...but it's taken this long to 'sign off' the budget and I've got to make a 911 seem at least a little bit practical!!!

Aaah, Nerv's favourtite thread.

My 996 is the main family car, we've been away for several nights in it. Can get a travel cot and buggy in it, plus all the other 'necessary' crap. My two kids are both under 5.

Got for it, get a Carrera 2 though, the boot is much bigger.

Ballcock and I have got Britax Trios.

wouldn't say you're that small to need a baby seat

would have thought a booster seat would have been more than suitable

So now you're reading threads about Porsches and Toddlers. Anything I should know?

ps I've got photographic evidence I'm far from being the shortest person on this forum.

Now Jamie... don't lets turn against one-another, we need to stand against those that were planted in Fertilizer as children...

Besides, my 996 seat adjusts for height, so who needs a booster seat

Your forgetting the vomit in the car, reguritated milk down your back and nappies that need Sellafield storage capabilities...

My nephew and neices have done enough to put me off kids for life!

Apparently hte Britax Trio is now branded Fisher Price...

FFS how did the joy of looking for a 911 become searching through such joyous sites as babysworld.co.uk!!!!

Thanks for the steer chaps. At this rate i think I'll have the car seat before the car!

From another thread.

FUBAR said:
Sell your sports car/two seater and buy a practical 5-door saloon. And don't think that you can leave it out on the driveway spotless and shining. Family cars don't look like that. Buy a chocolate ice-cream cone and put it in the glove compartment. Get a coin. Insert it into the CD player. Take a family size packet of chocolate biscuits; mash them into the back seat. Run a garden rake along both sides of the car - there... perfect!

yes, and apparantly at the most inopportune moments (so not, say, at home in the kitchen where its easy to clean, but in the car, 5 minutes before arriving at the in-laws all dressed up nice for the mother-in-laws birthday).

I've also heard you can add the term 'projectile' to both those functions too...

Already got the practical estate car and it resembles all of the above! The 911 will have strict rules!

For the first few months that's pretty much all they do. That, and ensure you never sleep properly.

But, that's the easy bit.
