Please can I have honest input on this as I need to settle an argument!

What is quicker around a track - a 993 C2 or a mk1 Boxster S ?? driving

As many inputs as possible please!

Car and Driver lap times

Look at the Nelson Ledges Raceway http://wheeltalk.fancal.net/?p=535

Carrera S and a Boxster, so doesn't help that much, but it's a start.

sure he meant colour of car not driver.

would typically be a very close call i think, if it was the same driver, i would think the ciruit charcteristics would determine wahts faster.

hehe

Well there you go - you got 2 figures for the Nurburgring - which probably suits the boxster more than the 911 with the bumpy twisty circuit.

Somewhere like silverstone which has a lot of high speed corners and a nice long straight would suit the 911 even more IMO..

But, at the end of the day - it will always come down to who's behind the wheel...

Course I did, was a joke, as people on here often say their colour of car is the fastest.

Which of course is true, Silver is fastest.

Agree on both counts! Trouble with the written word is that sattire (or even humour) can very easily be missed...

Cheers

Good point, although a different interpretation never entered my head.

I'd have a tenner on the 993.

Me neither till i twigged what the furious face was for.

Tenner aside, I'd rather be driving the 993....

why talk about it? go sort it out on the track! losser pays fees for both of you?

sorted.

also, why do people think the ring is bumpy?

apart from the karusel the surface is anything but bumpy.. .. ..

Huh? I think the 'Ring is bumpy 'cos it is. My teeth and my bum tell me so, and I believe 'em. Throw in a few bits of curb-grabbing and its dentaltastic. To offer an opinion on the original question, my money would be on a 993 C2 over a Mk1 Boxster S.

I went round a track recently quicker in my 996 C2 than the 996 Turbo that was there that day but only cos my instructor was driving and he was 911 cup racer.

Im sure he would have gone round the track faster in a nissan micra than me in anything short of a tornado!
