All.

I purchased my Boxster 3.2S over a year ago and have had a fantastic time. No problems and a dream to own and drive. Im changing situation soon and hope to purchase a Caymen.

I would appreciate any answers to the following:

1: Personal imports from Germany. Is it worth it?. Has anyone done it?

2: Reasonably, and I appreciate its a guess, but if I bought new with a good spec, did 15000 miles in two years, assuming it was looked after etc what sort of depreciation would I expect?

I appreciate there isnt a definaive answer but would welcome any ideas comments etc.

Regards

Roger

I would factor in 20% to 30% depreciation. 20 if the demand stays high 30 if production meets demand, new model etc. One things certain you won't sell it for "pretty much what you've paid for it", which is what an opc salesman told me!

I would hazard a guess at losing somewhere between 8-10k over 2 years.

It might be worth dropping Pikey a mail. He is having thoughts of shifting his. His profile gives some reasonable information about the car and the cost of running it.

very optimistic IMHO

assuming a reasonable spec = £50k
reckon after 2 years and OPC forecourt price of £40k, actually selling for £37/8k
reckon you'd get £30k from an OPC or £33k private

Sorry I meant 20-30% in first year. Look at prices now on an opc website. To drive away one of the first cayman, even with an average spec you would have been looking at 50k. These cars are going for 45k now in an opc, if they are selling them for that they would only be paying around 37 38k for them.
