just browsing (as you do), and saw an iris blue 993 cab here www.sportscarclassics.net/

says car has had a lowered suspension. does anyone know/opine as to whether this is a good or bad idea?

when i had the front shocks on my 968 cab replaced last year i had a brief chat with the indie crispin manners about uprating the suspension. his view was that on a cab it was a bad idea, commenting that the less rigid chassis would not take kindly to suspension tweaks.

anyone have a view?

Depends how it has been lowered. May just have slightly shorter springs of the same rate as the original. ie. MO33 as opposed to standard.

I've seen a 964 cab with sporty suspension which had cracks in the shell at about the point where the c pillars would be. This was on a very hard driven car inc. track days most people would't or couldn't drive that way though.

I would imagine a 993, down and dirty, looking just as good or better than this . Parr did their magic and made this cab a mean muther (sic)

Fit 968 CS springs but don't go any further.
Have the rear torsion bars reindexed if necessary.

I had a 996 C2 with the optional sports chassis - It introduced a few more rattles to the interior and it made the hood squeak against the Windscreen/roof joint.

Other than that the car handled much better for it and I surprised quite a lot of coupes around the track at Bedford.
