....70-72k would be as low as they would go i would suggest. There are very few mk2 996 gt2's and they will command a premium.

Just buy it.

If the car has a wty, it won't transfer accross bc. you're buying from a non frach. dealer.

I'd negotitate the price of the 111 pt check, any remedial work needed and the 895 notes for the warranty.

Cheers

Ajit.

Do it. I paid £72k (less a few quid) for a 52 plate 8K miles.

Going rate I'd say

Some people may have different experience, but the warranty strictly can't be transfered if the car is brought via an indie - and there are some very unfortunate people who have had big warranty claims turned down because it was subsequently discovered that it was invalid (car having been sourced from an indie).

One such instance (guy i know in PClub GB) resulted in the opc (who had an irate very loyal customer) trying their best for the guy with a blown boxster engine but porsche refused to honour it.

Don't assume it'll be alright when the black and white is not on your side.

Ajit.

I seriously looked at this car, seemed pretty clean, sounded like they'd offer a pretty comprehensive warranty too. Think you could probably get a good deal on it too.

I thought all cars from mid 2003 were Mk2 GT2s with the revamped handling.

About right if you can get a decent package for the asking price less a K or so. I think GT2 prices will start to turn in due course - just like they did for the (then) unloved 964RS etc....

its a mark 1 for sure. I was in your situation back in september. The car I was looking at was also a 2004 reg car but was built in 2003 and it had the mark 2 wheels on it (GT3 alloys). Best thing you can do is call porsche with chassis number and they can tell you when the car was manufactured etc and what options it came with, how much it cost etc. If it was a mark 2 I'd say it was a steal at 75, but as a mark one I would not pay that, maybe offer them 70? The one I viewed was offered to me for 76k with 5k on the clock - but I walked away from it as I thought it was a mark 2 originally, so no idea how much further down in price the garage would have gone. Get the brakes checked thoroughly - there is a post on here by some guy who had the check and they failed a few days/weeks later. goodluck
