I need help!!!!. I have a problem with my boxster roof. it goes up and down ok. When i put it down the windows go back up to the top. When i close the roof the windows go down a few inches as normal but when the roof is up and the motors stop i close the handle but my windows stay down and will not close. so right now my windows are down. Please no one ask what i am doing putting the roof down when it is winter. If anyone has any ideas please please let me know.
Cheers
Jamie

Have you tried pulling the lever on the roof to expose the microswitch inside the catch and then pushing the switch with your finger? Not a cure - but possibly a method of getting the windows closed?

The microswitch is in the windscreen surround - its the bit the "catch" goes into when you close the roof. Normally if you shove your finger in there the windows raise. Maybe the catch "isn't" and a finger would do the job...

Just a thought but when you close the roof make sure you keep the button down for longer than seems obvious - there seems to be more for the motor to do after the roof has apparantly closed, I discovered this when I borrowed one and the windows refused to close!!.

If this fails the switch operated by the final raising action (as above) may need locating and checking - sorry no idea where it is.

Sounds like the microswitch - as previously mentioned, when the roof is in its closed position instead of pushing the latch handle over, into place stick your finger into the hole where the hook would go and push - this is where the microswitch is to check that the roof is latched properly - if it is working, the windows will go up if you hold it for a few seconds (dependent on your model year - eg:07 takes around 5 seconds as it re-tensions the roof/lid before closing the windows)

If it works then but not with the latch, the hook isn't pushing it in far enough - as the roof material relaxes this happens sometimes. Either you could re adjust the roof or (more simply for the un initiated) get a little bit of felt and stick it to the face of the switch contact plate that the hook strikes. This should just push the microswitch in a little further...

Good luck!

thank you so much. I found the problem to be the little rubber bit on the handle had came away so there was no conection to the switch in the roof. Problem resolved with a little bit of cloth. Thank you once again
