the tyres on my 2002 996 c4s have lasted about 8000 miles because they have worn badly on the insides. I've been told this is normal but it's upsetting to have 4mm of tread on the outside and 0mm of tread on the inside fifth of the tyre which means they need to be changed. Is this normal?
I don't know if it should be like it, but I do know that lots of people have posted the same thing in the past. Obviously the setup will control the rate at which the tyres wear, but I guess the question is, do you need a setup like that?
The only way to know is to try a different, and perhaps less radical, setup.

I'd say it's not normal, get the geometry checked/adjusted by an independant Porsche specialist as it sounds like the cars running excessive negative camber (has it been tracked ?)
BTW, 8000 miles is good, the rears on my GT3 only lasted 4,500 miles
