A few pics for you Pork lovers of the first 997 RS to be delivered in South Africa. I kept the pic size low so that you don't get bandwidth overkill.

Spent half the day preparing it, and I must say, the brochure pics do not in any way prepare you for seeing it for real. Just such a stunning car.

Happy new year chaps.

That is without question the best colour spec.

What an angry looking car.

I agree, Glen says it looks "too much like halloween" and I guess hes right but I still thinks its the best colour to get.

Gets my Vote as well as the best colour combo.... The Yellow Number plate 'So clashes' with the Bodywork on the Orange RS.

It looks great. Did it go to Bruce Joelson ? When I lived there, he was first in line for everything new. He even had a 993GT2 Evo that he turned into a racecar !

Bruce was huge sponsor [Elna]of Production Superbike racing in the 80's when we had fields of 45 bikes at Kyalami/East London/PE/Scribante/Welkom

Like it very much, except the mirrors & the rear wing blades / tips.

Then then again I'm more conservative than Enoch Powell.

Indeed. They made quite the kinky couple! The white GT3 is currently sitting right in front of my desk.

Hi Allan,

I won't mention the owner's name outright, but let's just say that he owns a company that sells little chocolate balls wrapped in gold foil whose name Jonathon Ross would have difficulty pronouncing.

I don't know Bruce, but it's highly probable that he is a Joburg customer. He certainly shows up on the system! According to the system he is currently in possession of two 993 GT2s(!), a 964 RS, a 928 S4 and a 968 RS Turbo. - Quite a garage.

Kind regards,

Rob.
