OPC Inspection & Warranty?
Discussion
Thinking of changing the daily driver to a 996C4, with the car coming from a non-OPC source. Can anyone let me know if I can get a 111(?) point inspection at an OPC & a 1 yr porsche warranty...and what would it cost me? Car has a full PSH with the last service carried out last month! Many thanks.
Thanks chaps, thought this would be the case but just wanted to check - the warranty makes great sense then really - you know that £895 a year will cover any major faults - get it serviced by a specialist with original parts when due and you really have a cheap car to keep (allowing for wear and tear items of course).
Honest advice?
Pay a little extra for OPC service but PICK YOUR DEALER CAREFULLY - THEY VARY A LOT. Get to know your chosen OPC Service Manager and build a relationship there (you'd be amazed how many people go in to OPCs acting like utter knobs - be nice and you will be liked as an exception!!!!!), and if something goes wrong then you'l' get a sympathetic hearing and some goodwill work.
I've had RMS under warranty, and a potentially MAHOOSIVELY expensive (in terms of hours) electrical grmelin sorted under warranty (would have been about £6k including diagnostic time and parts!!) BUT becuase I always get OPC service and I know the people at my dealer, I have also had a lot of little things which are not on the letter of the warranty covered sorted under Porsche goodwill. Check my profile for details.
Good luck!
Definitely the right way forward to get the OPC warranty.

.. This wouldn't be referring to the little OPC receptionist you had your 'eye' on ??
Now that's what I call goodwill.......

this is true, I was told the same by the guy at my local OPC, I guess there are alot of cock's out there who think they are great becuase they drive a car.
although I never had to call for any favours I got the impression he would sort me out if needed.
only thing is, the bugger has left now, and the first time they touched the car after he went they screwed it up big time.
indy only for me know, not risking 3 hours in the rain and then spending almost a whole day running round with my car getting towed back to the indy.
never. again.
but when I did have to claim on the warranty (clutch went) I was 90% happy with the service, they gave me a saab as a rental whilst mine was in for repairs, I kicked off and got a range rover 4.2 HSE, which we had fun killing, ohh and I put 1.5k miles on it in 10 days
