Hi - can anyone help me re. a C4S 996 I am looking to purchase.
It was last serviced 23/9/2005 at 14,962miles (OPC).

It has now done 25,000 miles.

Selling garage will get an OPC service done but I beleive this should have been at 24,000miles?

Is there an leeway given on miles done - seller said you get 1,500 - 2,000 miles - but he would say that!

Appreciate any help/advice.

Thanks.

Yes there is some margin there even Porsche dont beleive you have to drive your car into garage on exactly 24000 miles. Would think the dealer is about right. Even if he was wrong what else could they do?

Good to see you liked the advice on XKR vs. C4S !

Interval is 40k kilometres which is 25k miles, and IMHO a couple of k here or there is no big deal.

Personally I would get the 111pt check done while the car is with the OPC, good chance it can be done at a reduced or even zero rate if combined with a service (still get the seller to pay though). Plenty of threads recently on the 111pt check.

Hi - I can't believe I have gone ahead and bought a 911!

Having porsche 24,000mile service, 111 point inspection and porsche warranty - couldn't get a switchable exhaust thrown in but will just have to save up more pennies!

Thanks for all your help and advice.

This may sound like stating the obvious ... but make sure you get to see the service printout. If any issues were found during the service, they should be in a section titled 'Technicians report' (issues found during a service may not be found on the 111pt check). Also on the printout there is usually a report on how much tread is left on the tyres.
