Any budding Steeve McQueens out there?

Came across this this evening, and just had to share it. Hopefully it's not a repost. Most of us are familiar with the Porsche 917 - the car that gave Porsche its first outright Le Mans wins, and went on to dominate Gt racing in the early 1970s making Porsche a formidable reputation in the process. The same reputation that they are pedalling today despite present management having no more interest in racing than the cat. Anyway - I digress. Here's a 917 here...
I don't know what a 917 would fetch today, but it would certainly be well into 7 figures. So how's about this replica I've found for a tiny fraction of the cost of the real thing? And yes - it is being advertised by an American seller as a 917 replica. He's certainly not shy about putting the odd, discrete Porsche sticker on it. Check out the one on the bonnet - it just screams heritage at you, doesn't it? I've seen some munting cars on PH, but this thing has to be worth some sort of prize...
In fairness. It would have been far easier to make this thing actually look like a 917 than to create that collection of 4th dimensional eyesore you see in the following photos.

do you think you could apologise for that? hes starting to get twitchy now, and im not sure i look the look of those indicators.
I think apologising will merely demonstrate to 'it' that i'm fearful of it when in actual fact i find it quite humorous
actually i find it quite scary...
I LOVE IT! That yellow car is absolutely fantastic!
Obviously when comparing it to a 917 it's simply grotesque, but looking at it as an exercise in producing the single most ugly, ill conceived and downright wrong vehicle to ever roam the streets - it is pure genius.
The way both the front and back twist upwards as if in a permanent tortured scream about the crimes committed to the chassis... - outstanding.
The cheap plastic foglights mounted perpendicular to the body that stick 2 fingers up at all that is holy in design cohesiveness... - inspired.
But most of all, on top of the other, inumerable demonstrations of design counter-talent, the thing that shines most brightly for me is the obvious amount of time and effort that has been thrown at this project by the nameless creator. I shall call him Lord, and I shall follow him forever.

Would love to see that hit 240 down the Mulsanne straight... because at that speed those *interesting* looking aerodynamics (and I use the term loosely) would probably send the thing skyward a la Mark Webber's flying Merc. And if it rolled itself into oblivion after that then wouldn't that be a shame?

I though it was Peter Dumbreck that took off in to the trees in the CLK-CTR?
Other than that, its the most vile creation on the planet, although a road legal version of the 917 was created for Count Rossi (of martini fame) and registered in America (Texas i think?) as a play thing. I believe the car featured Girling brakes with ABS, which was unheard of the time. I will try to look up the artical, it was in a book about Porsche special vehicle department and covered everythin from Tractors to the 935 used to assit in the cycling world speed record.
